Synchronisation for Distributed Audio Rendering over Heterogeneous Devices, in HTML5

چکیده
The HTML5 standard is wide-spread on mobile devices. In combination with the Web Audio API, it allows for massively distributed real-time audio rendering. But timing issues exist, mainly because of the lack of standard inter-device synchronisation. This paper proposes a synchronisation solution based on HTML5. Using a shared reference time, we achieved the distributed rendering of audio events with an individual accuracy of 1 to 10ms, 5ms in standard deviation, which is more accurate than the audio block duration, for any device that we measured.

Web-enabled 3D talking avatars based on WebGL and HTML5
We describe a system for plugin-free deployment of 3D talking characters on the web. The system employs the WebGL capabilites of modern web browsers in order to produce real-time animation of speech movements, in synchrony with text-to-speech synthesis, played back using HTML5 audio functionalty. The implementation is divided into a client and a server part, where the server delivers the audio ...
متن کاملSpatially Distributed Sound Computing and Rendering Using the Web Audio Platform
Large multi-channel spatial audio systems have historically been play-grounds for universities and well-funded studios, but only a dream for independent composers. Similarly, "parallel computers" were locked in research facilities, where only a few musicians ever gained access to, for example, the compute power to convolve hundreds of separate audio streams with spatiallyspecific room impulse r...
متن کاملThe Impact of HTML5/CSS3 on Mobile Devices
The purpose of this study is to investigate the new features of HTML5 and CSS3. More specifically, how transitions, animations and embedding video are being incorporated into the design process for mobile devices. As well as how CSS3 and HTML5 are helping to reduce the amount of images needed to produce websites. The study asks the question “How HTML5 and CSS3 are impacting web development for ...
